Rihanna calls for end to gun violence after her cousin is reportedly shot dead

Rihanna has shared a picture of herself with cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne on Instagram.

Rihanna has paid tribute to her cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne in the wake of his sudden death.

Sharing a picture of the pair on Instagram earlier this morning (December 27), the singer wrote: “RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!”

She ended her post with the hashtag “#endgunviolence”, suggesting her cousin may have been killed in a gun attack.

Nation News, a local news outlet in Barbados, reports that Alleyne, 21, was shot dead at 7pm on Boxing Day at his home in Saint Michael on the south-west of the Caribbean island.

According to the report, Alleyne was “walking through a track in the area of his house when he was approached by a man who shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene”.

Police are understood to be investigating the circumstances of his death. Anyone with information pertaining to Alleyne’s death is being asked to come forward.

Meanwhile, Rihanna has also paid tribute to her late cousin in a separate Instagram story post, writing “rest up lil cuz” beneath broken heart, praying, crying and angel emojis and Alleyne’s handle, @merka_95.
