Rihanna latest performer to join Grammys line-up

The pop star will make an appearance in New York City on January 28

Rihanna has been confirmed to perform at the 2018 Grammy Awards.

The singer joins a line-up that already includes the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Elton John, Miley Cyrus, and more.

Rihanna will appear with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller as they perform their hit single ‘Wild Thoughts’. The track is not nominated for an award, but Rihanna’s collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, ‘Loyalty’, is up for the Best Rap/Sung Performance trophy.

The 2018 Grammy Awards will take place at New York’s Madison Square Garden on January 28. It will be hosted by James Corden.

Last month (December 27), Rihanna called for an end to gun violence after her cousin was reportedly shot dead.

The star shared a photo of her and cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne on Instagram, writing: “RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!”

She ended her post with the hashtag “#endgunviolence”, suggesting her cousin may have been killed in a gun attack. Nation News, a local news outlet in Barbados, reported that Alleyne, 21, was shot dead at 7pm on Boxing Day at his home in Saint Michael on the south-west of the Caribbean island.
