Rod Stewart is the latest, and probably final, addition to this weekend’s (May 27) SOCCER SIX celebrity charity fundraiser.

The rock legend and renowned football fanatic’s team is drawn in Group B and will play first round matches against Goldie‘s team (featuring some film star mates including Ray Winstone and Nick Moran), Robbie Williams‘ team and a team brought by teen pop stars-turned TV presenters Ant & Dec.

In Group C, Stereophonics, Fat Les, Northern Line and Jamiroquai will compete, while in Group A, Blur, Bush, Reef and 5ive will look to progress.

It is the fourth year the event has been held at Stamford Bridge in west London, the home of Chelsea FC, and as in other years organisers are also promising a celebrity women’s competition. A spokesperson for the event has said that amongst those attending, celebrity ‘it’ girl Tara Palmer-Tompkinson will join forces in one team with model Jordan, a favourite from men’s magazines.

The event kicks off at 11am.
