Rufus Wainwright to play a very special gig

Singer covers Judy Garland show

Rufus Wainwright is set to visit London to recreate a legendary Judy Garland concert from 1961.

The gig will take place next year on February 18 at the Palladium.

Garland‘s original show is considered the apex of the ‘Wizard Of Oz’ actress’ singing career.

Wainwright recreated the show earlier this year, resulting in two sold-out shows at New York’s Carnegie Hall on June 14 and June 15.

The singer will wearing special clothes styled by Dutch designers Viktor and Rolf.

Wainwright is currently working on the follow up to 2004’s ’Want Two’, which is expected to be released in early 2007.
