Ryan Adams shares ‘Shake It Off’ snippet from Taylor Swift cover album – watch

Swift said she was ready to 'pass out' with excitement over news of the '1989' cover record

Alt-country singer-songwriter Ryan Adams recently revealed to fans that he was recording an entire cover album of Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ album.

Following the one year anniversary of the album’s biggest hit ‘Shake It Off’, which was released on August 18 2014, Adams took to twitter to preview his version of the song.

Adams posted a video, revealing his take on the song’s chorus and praising the “genius” of fellow musician Nate Walcott for the added “piano vibes.”

Since announcing the surprise project at the start of the month, Adams has been keeping fans updated via social media. Another ‘Shake It Off’ segment has been revealed via instagram, alongside previews of ‘Welcome To New York’, ‘Bad Blood’, ‘All You Had To Do Was Stay’, ‘Out Of The Woods’ and ‘Wildest Dreams.’

Upon hearing about the record, Swift expressed her excitement, saying that she would “pass out” and later adding: “not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I’m going to celebrate today every year as a holiday”.

‘1989’ came out last October and has spawned the hit singles ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’, ‘Style’ and ‘Bad Blood’.
