The singer dedicates the honour to "all the black women in England"...

SADE dedicated the OBE she picked up at BUCKINGHAM PALACE today to “all black women in England”.

Speaking after picking up her award with echoes of Halle Berry’s Oscar acceptance speech, the singer said it was “a great gesture to me and all black women in England”.

Sade was one of 110 people at the Palace who were named in the New Year honours list. The Nigerian born star, who has sold 30 million albums worldwide, was joined by amongst others, Jane Birkin, an actress and singer, and former wife of French legend Serge Gainsbourg.
