And one member omits to tell the other about it...

Savage Garden have split, and the band’s Daniel

Jones found out that the duo were no more by reading it in a newspaper.

Singer Darren Hayes broke the news without telling

Jones. Jones said that his understanding was

that he and his partner would be taking a break from the band to pursue solo

Jones has started a small production company, while

Hayes is launching a solo career and is gearing up to the

release of a solo album, provisionally titled ‘Spin’.

Jones told The Sydney Morning Herald: “I

have always looked at a band like Eurythmics

who have had separate careers within a band and we thought we could go along

similar lines to that. We’ve both had a lot of success together. We’ll probably

have a lot of success independently in the future.”
