Track is the first in a series of releases planned prior to second album release

SBTRKT will release a new series of instrumental 12″s ahead of his second album, which is due for release later this year. Scroll down to hear new track ‘Hold The Line’ now.

The releases will act as a transition between the 2011 album ‘SBTRKT’ and a new full-length LP.

“These tracks will form a collection of vinyl 12″s before my next album and its singles, maybe a digital release, too,” the masked producer said in a note accompanying the song and read on air by BBC 6Music DJ Mary Anne Hobbs. “They’ll be out in a couple of months. All instrumental stuff along the lines of the music I put out on RAMP or the early Young Turks releases, transitioning between my last album and the next one.”

Earlier this year SBTRKT shared a previously unreleased song featuring Jessie Ware, called ‘Runaway’. The old track, which only lasts for one minute and 15 seconds, was played by SBTRKT at end of his set at the Young Turks New Year’s Eve party in Tulum, Mexico, which also saw sets from Grimes, The xx, John Talabot and Chairlift.

At the start of 2013 SBTRKT released his first live album. Titled simply ‘Live’, the album was recorded at a headline gig from London Shepherd’s Bush Empire in 2012 and featured tracks from his self-titled album. The live show was also filmed by 12 cameras for a DVD release. SBTRKT’s label Young Turks released ‘Live’ as a limited run of 500 LP/DVD packages housed in hand-screen-printed sleeves.
