The band preview songs from new album
Scissor Sisters previewed new songs at Siren Music Festival in their native New York at the weekend (July 15).
The band, who headlined the main stage at the free festival in Coney Island, experienced a power failure early in the show but carried on regardless, playing songs from their forthcoming second album ’Ta-Da’.
Before they playing new song ’Paul McCartney’ singer Ana Matronic told the audience: “We’re bringing the dancing back to New York! We’re not in ‘Footloose’– there’s no Kevin Bacon leading us to City Hall.”
The band also played such hits as ’Laura’ and ’Take Your Mama’, while singer Jake Shears stripped to his socks and jockstrap for the final portion of the set.
Meanwhile, Art Brut performed on the Stillwell stage of the one-day bash. The band played ’These Animal Menswe@r’ and ’Rusted Guns Of Milan’ to the excited crowd.
The Cribs‘ onstage drinking antics resulted in an unfortunately positioned wet patch on singer Ryan Jarman’s crotch, however despite this setback, the band, who opened with ’Mirror Kisses’, delighted their fans who flocked to the second stage.
With the festival now in its sixth year, the event also witnessed performances from the likes of The Stills, Tapes N’ Tapes and She Wants Revenge among others.
