Friends of the late voodoo rocker set up website to trace his multifarious offspring...
Friends of the late SCREAMING JAY HAWKINGS have set-up a website in a bid to trace his scattered offspring and settle his estate.
It is believed that the shock-rock bluesman, who died of multiple organ failure following surgery on February 12, fathered an incredible 57 children.
“Are you one of Jay’s Kids?”, asks [url=]www.jayskids.com, before going on: “Jalacy J. Hawkins reportedly fathered up to 57 children. Friends and family wish to locate any of these children, or any other heirs which are unknown”.
The site then invites possible children or former partners to enter details for verification.
Since the site has appeared, there have been some 2000 hits per day.
The American website www.e!online.com reports that a daughter, born to the star in 1951, has already been turned up by the site. Hawkins kept in regular contact with only one of his children (another daughter) throughout his life and six marriages. It is not expected, though, that all 57 will be found before the will is read in May.
Hawkins, best know for his 1956 hit ‘I Put a Spell On You’, had a renowned stage act. He would arrive onstage in a coffin and wear a bone pierced through his nose and use as a prop a plastic skull called called ‘Henry’.
His friends and associates claim to be working through one of his last wishes in attempting to contact all the children.
