Couple tie the knot at ceremony in Kent
S.C.U.M‘s Tom Cohen and Peaches Geldof got married yesterday (September 8).
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Kent, the same church Peaches’ parents Bob Geldof and Paula Yates had their marriage blessed in 1986. It was also the same church where Yates’ funeral was held in 2000.
Due to a magazine deal, the wedding was a closely guarded secret and guests, including ‘Later…’ presenter Jools Holland, were asked to enter the church via the back door to avoid awaiting paparazzi.
After exchanging their vow, the couple then moved on to the reception which was held in the ground of her childhood home in Davington Priory, where her dad still lives.
Earlier in the week Peaches, alongside a photo of her ring, tweeted: “Very soon my engagement ring will have a wedding band under it. SO excited – my last few days of not being a wife.”
Cohen and Geldof announced the birth of their first child together, a boy named Astala, in April this year. The couple had originally said they wouldn’t get married for “a couple of years”.
