'NME Exposed' features classic shots of legendary rock and pop stars including Bowie, the Pistols, The Clash and Courtney Love...

Classic photographs of KURT COBAIN, Madonna, BOB MARLEY, Clash, IGGY POP, Blondie, COURTNEY LOVE, THE STONE ROSES and a host of other stars will feature at ‘NME EXPOSED’ – an exhibition celebrating 50 years of NME.

The exhibition will open on April 17 at the Eyestorm Gallery on Maddox Street in London.

Also amongst the 50 classic prints from the NME archive, will be the infamous Richey Manic ‘4 Real’ photo, and early pictures of Oasis, the Sex Pistols, Joy Division and David Bowie.

The showing is for press and invited guests only and on Wednesday bids will be taken for the prints – signed by the photographers – in a sealed auction to raise funds for the Warchild charity. However, fans will have an opportunity to buy them in an online in an auction running through Thursday 18 and 19, at www.nme.com/warchildauction.

You will be able to see the full selection of photos in a special NME Exposed Photo Book, available free with the issue on sale April 24.

Meanwhile, continuing the 50th celebrations, next week’s NME is a bumper glossy special celebrating the artists featured in NME over the last 50 years – including Sinatra, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground, Bowie, the Sex Pistols, Clash, The Smiths, Happy Mondays, Oasis, Radiohead and Blur.

The issue will be on sale in London on April 16 and nationwide from the following day.
