She and Him’s Zooey Deschanel hits back at being called a ‘snobby cow’

Singer calls publication's comments 'vile and toxic'

Zooey Deschanel, lead singer of She And Him and star of (500) Days of Summer, has defended herself against allegations that she made disparaging comments about Downtown LA.

The argument between the singer and the Los Angeles Times kicked off during the recent visit of Prince William and Princess Catherine to Los Angeles.

She is quoted by columnist Patt Morrison as saying “I just don’t want them [the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge] to see the worst of LA.”

Writing on the website hellogiggles, Zooey hit back saying the reporter wasn’t even at the event where she made the ‘alleged’ comments.

Deschanel also went on to criticise the fact-checking of the writer, who managed to incorrectly name her home in an aside: “You don’t have any homeless people there near your Westside home?”

The singer hit back, “You state, ‘Go back to your house on the Westside.’ Well, I can’t do that because I do not live on the Westside,” before she concluded, “I do hope that in the future when writing about something, especially a human being, you will consider both the facts and context before publishing your opinion.”

Zooey Deschanel will soon be appearing in the comedy show, The New Girl.
