'Night Time, My Time' will come out on Polydor on March 17
Sky Ferreira‘s debut album ‘Night Time, My Time’ will be released in the UK on March 17.
The album has finally been given a UK release date after coming out Stateside last year. It will be put out on the Polydor label. Ferreira recently discussed her approach to feminism with NME, saying she feels like she’s doing a bad job if she’s not making someone angry.
Talking about the artwork for her debut LP, which features a photograph of her naked in the shower, she said: “You’re supposed to sell your body in a way that’s like… it’s OK to be sexy when it benefits everyone else. Most of the people who had a problem with it were men. At this point, I feel like I’m doing a bad job of being a feminist if I’m not making someone angry.”
“But I’m making art and doing things that are true to my work,” she continued. “I’m not trying to sell my body. But it’s my body to sell if I did want to! This kind of cover isn’t even what sells – what sells is your face, shot by a fashion photographer, but I didn’t want to do something like that. I do that all the time.”
The image was shot by Gasper Noè, who has previously directed films such as Enter the Void and Irréversible and recently worked on the video for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ ‘We No Who U R’.
