Everything Everything also pay their respects after 74-year-old loses his battle with cancer
Slash has paid his respects to Hollywood actor Dennis Hopper who died this morning (May 29) aged 74 from prostate cancer.
He wrote: “You take the great ones for granted until they’re gone. RIP Dennis Hopper.”
Hopper was surrounded by friends and family at his home in the Los Angeles beach community of Venice.
His manager announced in October 2009 that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He was last seen in public in March when he was honoured with a star on Hollywood‘s Walk of Fame.
Bloc Party and Friendly Fires producer Paul Epworth also offered his respects, tweeting : “Very sad to post RIP Dennis Hopper… Thanks for the characters you created, especially “mad frank”. Your genius will be missed…”
NME Radar Tour joint headliners Everything Everything honoured the film legend by listing a clutch of his movies on their Twitter page while Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe tweeted his condolences, with the simple statement: “Dennis Hopper RIP.”
