Slipknot are set to headline the Sonisphere festival next year at Knebworth.
Frontman Corey Taylor had said he was unsure if the band would continue following the death of bassist Paul Gray last June. However, they have now been signed up as one of the three headliners for the July event.
Sonisphere takes place on July 8-10 – Slipknot are the first band confirmed to play. See Uk.sonispherefestivals.com for more information.
The band said the show, and further dates across Europe, would be undertaken in tribute to Gray. “We’re looking forward to spending our summer in Europe,” they said. “This tour is about us and our fans. It’s about celebrating the life of our brother, Paul and his legacy.”
They added: “The door is neither open nor closed. This tour is about burning down that door. See you this summer.”
Ticket details are set to be announced next week (beginning December 6).
