Smashing Pumpkins: ‘We may not make another album’

Band say they may never release a new LP again

Smashing Pumpkins have said that they may never release a new album again.

The band did, however, say thay had no plans to give up music or stop playing together – they were simply considering releasing music in more unconventional formats.

Writing on the band’s official website, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin said: “Although we [Smashing Pumpkins] may not use the album or full-length CD as a format anymore, we will write and record until we are dead.”

Chamberlin went on to write that he was disappointed by recent reports that the band may have considered splitting, affirming that the band were continuing as usual.

Smashing Pumpkins returned in 2007 after initially splitting up in 2000.
