Founder member Chamberlain replaces Robin Diaz

Smashing Pumpkins have reunited with original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin.

Chamberlin will join the band on tour this summer as they tour with Marilyn Manson on The End Times Tour, as well as a number of acoustic gigs inbetween. The drummer replaces Robin Diaz in the constantly revolving line-up.

The upcoming dates mark Chamberlin’s third stint as Smashing Pumpkins’ drummer, having first joined the band in 1988 and leaving in 2002. He later returned for four years between 2005-2009. Smashing Pumpkins current line-up also includes guitarist Jeff Schroeder and bassist Katie Cole.

A statement confirming the news sees Billy Corgan say: “We’re thrilled Jimmy’s back in the saddle this summer to drive a super high-octane set, and it’s nice to see the stars aligning around Smashing Pumpkins anew.”

Meanwhile, Billy Corgan recently launched an “artisanal tasting box” of vegan and paleo food through subscription service Farm to People. The limited-edition gift basket, which will be priced at $129.95 (£85), contains items such as sprouted hazelnut butter, bourbon smoked sea salt and chunky coconut raw chocolate bars.
