Snoop Dogg caught with weapon at airport

Prosecutors consider charges

Authorities are considering charges against rapper Snoop Dogg after a 21-inch collapsible baton was discovered in his bag as he boarded a New York-bound flight from California.

According to the LA Times, Snoop had the baton in his laptop case as he went through a security checkpoint at John Wayne International Airport on September 27.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said the rapper told his deputies that the baton was a prop for a movie he was filming.

Amormino added: “He had a collapsible baton and it is classified as a dangerous weapon.” He added that the stick collapsed to eight inches.

District attorney spokeswoman Susan Kang Shcroeder said prosecutors had not yet decided whether to charge the star.

As previously reported, Snoop Dogg was involved in a fracas at Heathrow Airport in April after which he and five other associates were forced to spend a night in jail.
