Snoop Dogg aims to create ‘encyclopedia of cannabis’ with new weed-themed website

MerryJane.com will launch in October

Snoop Dogg has revealed that he’s launching a new website dedicated to marijuana.

Having recently invested in an app that has been labelled as “Uber for weed”, the rapper unveiled on Monday (September 21) that he’s the co-founder of MerryJane.com.

Speaking at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco, as reported by Billboard, the star stated that the online hub will be “the encyclopedia to the cannabis world”.

“We’re providing the industry with something that’s void right now,” he said. “We are the information hotline for cannabis. We are what’s missing.”

“There are so many people in the closet, and we are giving them an opportunity to come out of the closet and just admit they like to smoke,” Snoop added.

MerryJane.com will launch in October.

During July, Snoop Dogg was arrested by Swedish police in Uppsala on suspicion of illegal drug use.

Daniel Nilsson, a police spokesman for the region, said, “Police carrying out roadside controls noticed that Snoop Dogg seemed to be under the influence of narcotics.”

The rapper was pulled over by police, arrested, and taken to the station to undergo a urine test. Nilsson said, “The incident lasted several minutes. Once the test was carried out he left.” The test results were not available immediately.

Following the incident Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to share his opinions, calling it a “racial profile” and saying that after the urine sample “they didn’t find shit.”
