Keyboard player will be in court later this month

Snow Patrol keyboard player Tom Simpson will face a drugs charge in court later this month.

As previously reported Simpson was apprehended as he prepared to board a flight at RAF Northolt in Middlesex on Saturday night (July 7) while the band were on their way to the Oxegen Festival in Ireland.

Simpson and his friend Colin Kennedy are alleged to have been in possession of cocaine in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street last year.

He was arrested in London last weekend and faced missing the band’s T In The Park performance on Sunday (July 8) before eventually being freed from police custody.

The keyboard player was excused attendance during a short hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (July 11).

Simpson and Kennedy have been ordered to appear in court on July 31.

The offence is alleged to have occurred on June 24 last year, reports BBC News.
