SO SOLID CREW HAVING A BALL?

Will the collective finally be able to play a gig?...

Just days after So Solid Crew were barred from playing at the HOMELANDS FESTIVAL this coming June, the collective have been scheduled to appear at a University show in BELFAST.

According to reports, the band will perform at Queen’s University’s May Ball on May 9 alongsideSupergrass. There are no further details available at time of going to press. It is unlikely the band would travel to Belfast just for the one show, though the only major festival in Ireland at that time is the Heineken Green Energy Festival in Dublin. So Solid Crew have not been mentioned as appearing yet. Also, a date for Homelands Ireland has yet to be set, though it is thought it will be moved from September, as it was last year, to early summer.

Neither spokespeople for the festival nor for So Solid Crew could be reached at press time. A telephonist for Queen’s University Student Union said this afternoon (March 22) they believed the show was going ahead, though the Ents officer, responsible for bookings, could not be reached.

If [a][/a] were allowed to perform it would mark a turnaround in fortunes. Police forces in England have been reluctant to green light their live shows, blaming public safety concerns.
