Midweek sales figures indicate the collective's single '21 Seconds' will be top of the tree come Sunday...

SO SOLID CREW remain on course for this week’s Number One following the publication of midweek sales figures.

According to calculations based on sales yesterday, their single, ’21 Seconds’, is currently outstripping this week’s other new releases, with a chart expert at the Virgin Megastore in London claiming the track has sold over twice as many as its main chart rival, Atomic Kitten‘s ‘Eternal Flame’.

She commented: “It’s looking really good for them and increasingly likely they’ll be at the top on Sunday (August 12). They’ve sold well over double that of their closest rival.”

Speaking in this week’s NME about their chances of chart success, So Solid MC Harvey said: “I’m silently confident but I’m not building my hopes up. I don’t want to be disappointed but hopefully it’s going to do well. The vibe on the street is good. Number One? Yeah, that’s all I’ve been hearing for the past week.”

Elsewhere, Jennifer Lopez‘ ‘Ain’t it Funny’ is currently at Number Three, while Radiohead are at Number Five with ‘Knives Out’ and MOP’s ‘Ante Up’ is Number Seven.
