Watch as St Vincent performs new song dressed as a toilet

Benefit show also saw Father John Misty and Rufus Wainwright duet

St Vincent has played her first show of 2016 – while dressed as a toilet.

St Vincent played at New York club Le Poisson Rouge at a benefit night for her drummer Matt Johnson’s son Jasper, who is in recovery after suffering a seizure in February.

The show at the 700-capacity venue saw St Vincent premiere an apparently untitled new song, which some fans claimed to be about her partner Cara Delevingne, who was in the audience.

With her head sticking out of the cistern of her purple toilet costume, St Vincent played her whole show with the toilet seat from the costume sticking in front of her. The set also included ‘Marry Me’ and ‘Bring Me Your Loves’.

Other performers at the benefit included Father John Misty and Rufus Wainwright, who performed a duet together, as well as Joan As Police Woman, The Cardigans singer Nina Persson and Elysian Fields.

Since the release of her self-titled album in 2014, St Vincent has released new single ‘Teenage Talk’ which featured on the soundtrack of Girls and played with The Dallas Symphony Orchestra for arts festival Soluna.

In April, it was announced that St Vincent is directing her first film. She will direct one of the segments of horror anthology film XX.
