St Vincent recently unveiled a four-minute mini-documentary entitled ‘Lonestar’, on returning home to Texas.

Annie Clark grew up in Dallas, Texas, and recorded much of her music there. In the documentary, filmed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz for Nowness, Clarke talks about her home and music, as shots of Texas are interspersed with concert recordings.

“I think there are things that you just can’t explain about a place,” Clark says in the blurb accompanying the footage. “Music is one of those things that the more you give to it, the more you get back from it.”

The footage sees Clark making her way through fields of cows and crops in a Jeep, before taking to the fields naked, saying, “You just exist, which is sometimes kind of scary, but you just be here.”
