St Vincent performs ‘Slow Disco’ in a fake church on ‘Fallon’

Complete with pews full of string players

St Vincent brought ‘Masseduction’ cut ‘Slow Disco’ to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, complete with a full fake church stage set-up.

The performance came in the midst of a huge US tour, with St Vincent stripping back her usually outlandish stage set-ups for something comparatively tamer. Flanked by a church-like backdrop, Annie Clark performed the track in front of rows of pews filled with a string section.

Check out the performance below. It follows a TV performance of ‘Los Ageless’ on Graham Norton last month.

Meanwhile, Clark recently spoke out about the issues she’s faced as a woman in the music industry in a new interview.

Speaking to British Vogue, the musician explained that her music is sometimes misinterpreted due to her gender: “I think people wildly underestimate women – they think we lack intelligence.

“I do still think people have a tendency to assume that if a woman is singing a song, it must be literally true. They think everything must be emotional, a diary, and obviously that’s not the case.”
