Unlikely combination releasing 'Christmas In The Sun'

Rolf Harris has teamed up with Status Quo‘s Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi to release a Christmas single.

‘Christmas In The Sun’ is set to be released on December 7, and will go up against this year’s ‘The X Factor’ song, new editions of which have topped the Christmas singles charts for the last four years.

Speaking of the song, which is about Harris‘ memories of growing up in Australia in the ’30s, the entertainer paid tribute to Parfitt and Rossi‘s input, reports BBC News.

“They came up with musical surprises and guitar rhythms that sent shivers up and down my spine,” he said. “These guys have given me everything I wanted – a positive, hard-driving sound, lively and bouncing with good times, laughter and tons of fun.”

Parfitt added that he thinks the song will become a festive favourite. “Forget rock’n’roll, this is Rick‘n’Rolf,” he said. “This is a great track that we will be playing for years to come.”

‘Christmas In The Sun’ is included on a Status Quo compilation album, ‘It’s Christmas Time’, which is released on November 23.
