STEREOPHONICS – TOP BLOKES!

STEREOPHONICS have donated their five-a-side football kits to help raise money for a Welsh woman’s life-saving cancer operation.

Carol Jones, 47, from Llanfilo, near Brecon, needs £80,000 for stem cell treatment – which is not available through the NHS. Without it, she could die within two years.

Stereophonics have handed over their three used soccer kits – plus three further football tops with “Stereophonics” printed on the front – for a charity auction to be held this week. The strip was originally worn by Kelly Jones, Richard Jones and Stuart Cable during a charity five-a-side game in the spring.

Catatonia, meanwhile, have also donated signed CDs and other items to the Carol Jones fundraising appeal.

Auction organiser Marion Powell said: “We’re very grateful. The whole community is keen to do all it can to raise money for Carol’s treatment. It will improve her quality of life and increase her life expectancy.”

The auction begins today, and bids can be made by phoning Mrs Powell on 01874 658269.
