The Stone Roses add two massive gigs to 2017 UK tour

Those mysterious lemons are popping up again...

The Stone Roses have added two massive gigs to their upcoming 2017 UK tour plans. Check out the dates and details of their new Leeds shows below.

The news comes after rumour spread of the band headlining Reading & Leeds Festival 2017, when their iconic ‘lemon’ logo reportedly appeared across both cities.

The indie heroes pulled a similar stunt last year when the lemon posters started appearing across Manchester , before announcing massive shows at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium. They’ve done it several times since to tease huge announcements – like their 2017 Wembley Stadium gig.

Now, it has been confirmed that the band will play Leeds First Direct Arena on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 June. Tickets will be on sale from 9.30am on Friday 9 December.

Earlier, the lemons were been allegedly spotted in Reading and Leeds.

Representatives from The Stone Roses refused to comment when approached by NME.

Glastonbury boss Emily Eavis recently spoke to NME to deny the rumours that they’d be headlining Glasto 2017 alongside Daft Punk. The band were recording ‘glorious’ new music together in London earlier this year, before the surprise release of new singles ‘All For One’ and ‘Beautiful Thing‘.

The Stone Roses’ full upcoming headline dates for 2017 are below:
Belfast SSE Arena (June 13)
London Wembley Stadium (17)
Leeds First Direct Arena (20)
Leeds First Direct Arena (21)

Glasgow Hampden Park (24)

Last week saw the first wave of headliners for Reading & Leeds 2017 revealed, with Muse set to headline for the third time. Reading & Leeds festival takes place from 25-27 August over the Bank Holiday weekend. Hundreds more acts are yet to be announced – it now seems unlikely that The Stone Roses will be one of them.
