Singer dismisses break-up rumours as original line-up reportedly consider reforming

SugababesHeidi Range has dismissed rumours that the band are considering splitting up.

The singer insisted that the girl group are not parting ways following the news that the band’s original line-up of Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Bueana and Siobhan Donaghy are working on brand new material together.

Range – who replaced Donaghy in the Sugababes in 2001 – told the Daily Star:

The Sugababes are definitely not splitting. We’re just taking our time.

The band’s last studio album was ‘Sweet 7’, which was released in 2010, while they returned with the single ‘Freedom’ in September this year.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the founding line-up of the Sugababes were demoing a selection of brand new songs, in order to test the waters when it comes to officially getting back together as a band.

In September, meanwhile, current Sugababes member Amelle Berrabah – pictured right – was found guilty of assaulting a girl at a nightclub in London.

The star appeared in the City Of Westminster Magistrates’ Court to face a common assault charge after a run-in with Danielle Dodoo at Alto, the nightclub owned by Berrabah‘s boyfriend Tom Benn. She was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay £250 compensation.

After the ruling, Berrabah issued a public apology to her fans. She said: “Following my conviction for assault, I would like to offer my unreserved apologies to the band’s fans, my bandmates, our record label and my family.”

This was not the first time she has found herself in court. Last year the singer was charged with drink driving.
