SILENT NIGHT FEVER!

Gruff plays nothing but silence - and guests at the Cardiff party are not allowed to talk...

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS

frontman GRUFF RHYS

imposed a strict “no talking” on guests while he DJ-ed at his ‘SILENT NIGHT’ party in CARDIFF last night (December 19) – and then played nothing but silence.

The singer performed a highly unusual set by mixing together only the silent bits from his favourite LPs. Revellers had to communicate by writing messages to each other on notepads.

One onlooker said: “…”, while Gruff added: “….”.

Rhys was taking a break from recording the sixth SFA album. The follow-up to 2001’s Mercury-nominated ‘Rings Around The World’ is set for release in June next year. The band are also being strongly tipped to perform at next summer’s Glastonbury Festival (June27-29) after being forced to pull out of their Pyramid Stage appearance this year because their regular soundman was not available.
