‘…BODY’ OF EVIDENCE!

The partisan crowd at Warrington Parr Hall also get a hefty dose of the hits...

SUPERGRASS made a triumphant return to the UK stage last night (July 4) for the first time this year.

It was their first gig since touring with Pearl Jam last November.

The band playing a warm up gig at Warrington’s Parr Hall, before they join Radiohead in hometown Oxford on Saturday (July 7), and unveiled only one new song in their 14-track set.

In the rousing hour-long performance, which drew loud boos when the stage lights went up after the gig, Supergrass played a new track called ‘They Found Her Body’, which singer Gaz Coombes introduced as “a work in progress.”

‘Body’ ran for only about two minutes, but seemed to be in line with the last Supergrass album, which bore their traditional fast-paced riffs, while moving in a slightly more mature direction.

Though the band spent most of the time playing songs instead of speaking to the crowd in the over heated venue, the gig was ecstatically received.

The full set list for the gig was:

‘Caught By The Fuzz’

‘Strange Ones’

‘Mary’

‘Moving’

‘Beautiful People’

‘Sick’

‘They Found Her Body’

‘Richard III’

‘Far Away’

‘Lose It’

‘Sun Hits the Sky’

‘Going Out’

‘In It For the Money’

‘Lenny’
