Swans to play first British show since 1997 at Supersonic festival

Michael Gira brings his legendary post-punk band to the UK

Swans are to headline this year’s Supersonic festival in Bimingham – playing their first UK gig since 1997.

The event takes place in and around the Custard Factory venue in the city on October 22-24, and more acts are due to be announced soon.

The Swans‘ gig will see the band – led by Michael Gira – play material from the early part of their career, as well as showcasing their new album, which is due to be released later this year.

The new record will be the band’s first since 1996, and the live line up features Gira alongside Norman Westberg, Christoph Hahn, Phil Puleo, Chris Pravdica and Thor Harris.
