Noah And The Whale joined by Laura Marling at SXSW

They also hang with ZZ Top in Austin

Noah And The Whale was among the first acts to open day three at SXSW today (March 14), and were joined by Laura Marling on backing vocals for much of their set.

Opening with ‘Give A Little Love’ the band performed in the shade of a large canopy in the charming setting of the garden at the French Legation Museum in Austin at the Press Here garden party.

“This is our last show at SXSW and we’re really sad,”‘ said singer Charlie Fink. “Last night we bumped into (ZZ Tops) Billy Gibbons, and he does the coolest thing ever, he carries around photos of himself to sign so we printed off photos of ourselves and they’re selling like hotcakes so get yours while you can.”

“This is a really cool place to play, yesterday we did a gig in the courtyard of a hotel and there was a bunch of four year-olds dancing which was great. I think that’s our main market… they get it you know?”

The outdoor setting forced the band to connect with nature while performing.

“I just performed that last song with an ant on my nose, but I don’t think I let it get in the way of my performance” Fink joked.

They played:

‘Give A Little Love’

‘Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down’

‘Mary’

‘Five Years’ Time’

‘Rocks And Daggers’
