Vampire Weekend play second SXSW show

New Yorkers are highlight at Stubb’s BBQ on day three

Vampire Weekend played their second show of their first-ever SXSW this afternoon, with a show at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin.

The band were billed in the prime 4pm slot at the Spin Magazine party, which last year was filled by southerners Kings Of Leon.

Speaking to NME.COM before the show, drummer Chris Thomson revealed he is recovering well following his accident after the NME Awards in London on February 28, but still has some bruising on his head.

Singer Ezra Koenig was less conversational than yesterday’s performance at The Parish, perhaps due to the exhausting heat and sunshine which saw much of the crowd seek shelter under trees and awnings.

The band continue their SXSW onslaught with an 11pm show at Antone’s tonight.

They played:

‘Mansard Roof’

‘Campus’

‘Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa’

‘M79’

‘Bryn’

‘Allston’

‘A-Punk’

‘Blake’s Got A New Face’

‘Oxford Comma’
