SYSTEM
OF A DOWN are set to debut at Number One on the US Billboard Top 100 chart
(week ending September 22) with their second album ‘TOXICITY’.
The record sold 222,000 copies last week, the only high new entry on the
chart. It’s knocked the late R&B star Aaliyah
from first into third place with her eponymous album. However, due to the
emergency situation in New York, incorrect figures were compiled
and the album was initially posted at Number Two behind Alicia Keys’
‘Songs In A Minor’. The sales better the 3,000 that System
Of A Down shifted in the first week with their 1998 self-titled debut album.
Slipknot, with whom System
Of A Down will head out on the postponed ‘Pledge Of
Allegiance’ tour in October, fell from Three to 12 with their second
album ‘Iowa’. – Staind
and Linkin
Park climb back into the Top Ten, jumping from 13 to Six and 11 to Seven
respectively.
