Daron Malakian is picked to play in a game in the LA Dodgers' stadium...
System Of A Down guitarist DARON MALAKIAN is set to fulfil a childhood dream after being picked to play at the DODGERS‘ major-league baseball stadium in LOS ANGELES.
The rocker has made the celebrity line-up for the Dodgers’ 45th annual ‘Hollywood Stars’ baseball game on Saturday August 9.
‘Hollywood’ and ‘Stars’ teams will square off for an hour before the real Dodgers Vs Chicago Cubs game. The full celebrity line-up is yet to be announced.
“I’ve been going to Dodgers games since I was a kid,” said Malakian. “I can’t believe I’m going to take batting practice and play baseball on the field at Dodger Stadium. This really is a dream come true for me.”
System Of A Down will be back in the UK to share the headline slot with Metallica at this year’s Carling Weekend at Leeds (August 22) and Reading (August 24). The band will then begin work on the follow up to 2001’s multi-platinum album, ‘Toxicity’ .
