Tickets for the three day bash are snapped up in record time

Tickets for this year’s T In The Park festival have sold out in record time.

Up to 40,000 tickets were snapped up for the three-day event within 40 minutes of going on sale this morning (February 24).

The sale beats the festival’s previous record of selling out in 70 minutes when the first batch of 35,000 tickets went on sale last summer.

Festival organiser Geoff Ellis told the official website: “While we thought that the T In The Park tickets would sell out quickly today, we are amazed that it has broken its own record as the fastest selling festival in the UK.

“Once again T In The Park fans have shown how much they love the festival and we look forward to seeing each and every one of you there.”

He also promised that a second batch of tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks and urged fans not to purchase tickets from unofficial outlets.

As previously reported on NME.COM this year’s headliners include Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and Snow Patrol.

T In The Park 2007 will take place at Balado near Kinross over the weekend of July 6-8.
