'I'd rather buy rods and reels than flash houses and cars', he says

N-DubzDappy has admitted he once spent £8,000 during a “crazy” spree in a fishing tackle shop.

The rapper and keen angler told Total Carp he’d rather spend his money on reels and rods than flash houses and cars – and gets more of an adrenaline rush from catching whoppers than performing on stage.

Teasing a massive carp out of the water leaves the pint-sized star “proper buzzing”, he revealed.

Dappy commented:

People who haven’t been carp fishing simply don’t know what they are missing out on. I once spent eight grand in a tackle shop.

With the Camden trio currently on hiatus, Dappy is preparing to release his debut solo single ‘No Regrets later this year. However, he isn’t planning to let music get in the way of his fishing – and is even planning to invest in somewhere he can take his passion even further.

He added:

Fazer [his N-Dubz bandmate] and I have looked into buying a lake in France. And I don’t want to give too much away but there are plans for a TV show.

While Dappy spends his days cruising Britain’s waterways in search of carp, his bandmate Tulisa Contostavlos is currently sitting on the judging panel for the upcoming series of the X Factor.

She was recently called a “scumbag” by a fuming auditionee after cutting his song short.
