Jeff Bridges to release debut album this summer

'The Big Lebowski' star is set to cover Tom Waits on debut LP

Hollywood actor Jeff Bridges is to release his first album later this year.

According to Entertainment Weekly the actor, who has starred in The Big Lebowski, Tron: Legacy and Iron Man during his career, has inked a record deal with Blue Note Records, which includes Norah Jones among those on its roster.

The album, which is due out in the summer, will be produced by blues legend T-Bone Burnett and will feature a collaboration with Johnny Cash’s daughter Roseanne. It will include covers of tracks by Tom Waits, Bo Ramsey and Greg Brown.

Bridges won an Oscar in 2010 for his portrayal of fictional country singer Otis ‘Bad’ Blake in Crazy Heart. He performed six songs on the film’s soundtrack, which was also produced by T-Bone Burnett.
