Ozzy Osbourne is being lined up to join the X Factor judging panel, according to reports this morning (April 18).
The Sun reports that the 62-year-old metal singer has been approached for a seat on the judging panel for the TV talent show, a role his wife Sharon Osbourne held between 2004 and 2007.
A source said of the approach: “Ozzy would be a controversial choice but he can really bring something different to the show. Sharon was a big hit and we think Ozzy can do well too.”
If Ozzy were to accept the offer, it would mark a big U-turn in the Black Sabbath frontman’s opinion of the show. He previously said: “It’s about killing music to make light entertainment. It should be about music and talent, but it’s not.”
Osbourne joins Noel Gallagher, Paloma Faith and The Saturdays‘ singer Frankie Sandford as those who have been rumoured to be approached to become X Factor judges.
