‘X Factor’ winner scores Christmas Number One

Leona Lewis holds off Take That, McFly and Girls Aloud

‘X Factor’ winner Leona Lewis has knocked Take That off the top of the UK singles chart to claim the Christmas Number One.

As predicted the singer’s cover of Kelly Clarkson‘s ‘A Moment Like This’ shot straight into the top spot.

Take That’s single ‘Patience’ is Number Two while McFly and Girls Aloud, who both scored new entries, were in at three and four.

Elsewhere Razorlight went straight in at Number 17 with ‘Before I Fall To Pieces’.

Despite losing out on the Christmas Number One, Take That did maintain their stranglehold at the top of the album chart for the fourth week running with comeback LP ‘Beautiful World’.
