Australian band also give an update on their progress in recording their second studio album
Tame Impala have announced three UK shows for later this year.
The Australian rock band, who are currently putting the finishing touches to their second full-length studio album, will play shows in London, Manchester and Sheffield in late October and early November.
The gigs begin at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on October 30, before the band move on to Manchester’s HMV Ritz on November 1 and finally Sheffield Leadmill on November 2.
The band recently posted an update on their official Facebook page, which promises that they would be unveiling the first new material from the follow-up to their 2010 debut album ‘Innerspeaker’ later this month.
They wrote: “Oh I didn’t realise it was June, I was meant to tell you this is the month you get to hear new Tame Impala music!”
A number of members of Tame Impala are currently playing side project Pond, who NME recently named as the hottest new band in the world.
Speaking to NME about how Pond fit in alongside Tame Impala, drummer Jay Watson said: “I don’t see any reason why we can’t co-exist, we’ve been doing it for years anyway. We’re both really different bands.”
