American politician Martin O’Malley recently performed an acoustic rendition of Taylor Swift‘s hit single ‘Bad Blood’ as he appeared on US TV show The View.

O’Malley is currently running to be the Democrats’ candidate for the 2016 US election.

After hearing that Katy Perry would be supporting rival Hillary Clinton in the election, O’Malley said: “So in response, I thought I’d offer this up for Taylor Swift.” ‘Bad Blood’ is famously thought to be about Perry.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ tour is bringing in nearly two million pounds per night, according to new reports.

Billboard revealed the news that Swift’s world tour, which has become famous for its huge number of guests stars ranging from Ellie Goulding and St Vincent to Phoebe from Friends, made $13.6m (£8.8m) from three gigs on the US leg of the tour.

This brings the tour’s overall gross figure to $173m (£112m) from 59 live dates. On average this works out at $2.93m (£1.87m) a night. The 17 week tour will come to a close at the end of October having launched in May. Since the tour began, Billboard reports that Swift has performed live at 24 arenas and 13 stadiums with over 1.5m tickets sold in total.
