Rock duo hype up their return and new album 'Rize Of The Fenix'…

Tenacious D have recruited Foo FightersDave Grohl and Val Kilmer for their new video ‘To Be The Best’ – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch.

The video, which also sees cameos from Jimmy Kimmel and Tim Robbins and promotes the duo’s return to music after a six-year hiatus, details the contrasting fortunes of members Jack Black and Kyle Gass after the release of their film The Pick Of Destiny.

According to the clip, while Black embarked on a Hollywood star following the flick, Gass becomes a failure and is forgotten by his bandmate until he turns up at his lavish home toting a gun.

Tenacious D will release their new album ‘Rize Of The Fenix’ on May 15. The LP is the follow-up to 2006’s ‘The Pick of Destiny’ and their 2001 self-titled debut.

They will also play four UK shows this June in support of the album’s release, and are part of the line-up for this summer’s Download Festival, playing on a bill that is headlined by The Prodigy, Metallica and a reunited Black Sabbath. The festival takes place over the weekend of June 8-10 at Donington Park, with the duo performing on June 9. They will play:

O2 Academy Brixton (June 5, 6)
O2 Apollo Manchester (10)
Glasgow SECC (12)
