Jack Black and Kyle Gass will put out their third album before appearing at Download Festival

Tenacious D are set to release their brand new album, ‘Rize of the Fenix’, in May.

The follow-up to 2006’s ‘The Pick of Destiny’ and 2001’s self-titled debut, this will be the third album from the comedy metal duo made up of actor and comedian Jack Black and Kyle Gass.

The band will follow the album’s release with a live spot at Download Festival. They have just announced their first American show of the year, at Sasquatch Festival in Washington over the weekend of May 25-28. Jack White, Bon Iver and Beck also play the US event.

Fans can visit Tenaciousd.com to hear a snippet from the new album.
