Texas’ Sharleen Spiteri covers The Killers at T In The Park show

Scottish singer surprises Main Stage crowd

Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri played a surprise afternoon show on the Main Stage at T In The Park today (July 12), during which she covered ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’ by The Killers.

The short set, between Kate Nash and The Feeling‘s slots, had been announced on Friday (July 11), but many of the crowd had been unaware and cheered as they recognised the Scottish star.

Taking the stage at 3.25pm (BST), Spiteri, wearing a bright red dress and tights, played a three-song acoustic set backed by two guitarists and a drummer.

“We thought we’d come along and play a true festival acoustic show,” Spiteri explained during her set.

She shunned her Texas back catalogue, instead playing two songs from her debut solo album, ‘Melody’, out Monday (July 14), plus the aforementioned cover.

After performing ‘It Was You’ and ‘All The Times I Cried’ Spiteri introduced her version of the The Killers‘ hit as “a special sing-a-long”.

The crowd duly bellowed out the “I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier” refrain before Spiteri thanked them and left the stage.
