The 1975 announce huge gig for end of the year

The 1975 have announced that they will be playing London’s O2 Arena at the end of the year. Taking place on December 16, the band made the announcement on Twitter today (June 6).

The band also revealed that ticket pre-sale will be taking place on Wednesday morning (June 8) at 9am. So far it is the only UK date on the tour that they have announced.

The band are set to embark on a tour on July 12, starting in Charlottesville, Virginia and ending on September 29 in Bogota, Columbia. The 1975 will also play a series of festival shows. They’re on the Other Stage of Glastonbury on June 25, third before Chvrches and New Order, before hitting T In The Park in July, Reading And Leeds in August and supporting Calvin Harris at Wireless in July.

Following the release in February of their second album ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’, the band previously said that they will going on their biggest tour of the UK in December. More dates are yet to be announced.

A statement said: “The show will form part of a series of concerts that will be toured worldwide, with expanded visuals and a brand new setlist, including songs that have never been played live.

“The 1975’s constantly evolving performance will fuse art and technology to create a unique live experience.”
