The Black Keys cancel UK tour following Patrick Carney injury

Drummer is still recovering after dislocating his shoulder on holiday in St Barts

The Black Keys have axed their UK tour after drummer Patrick Carney dislocated his shoulder in a bizarre swimming accident earlier this month (January 3).

As reported, Carney was on holiday on the Caribbean island of St Barts when a giant wave slammed him into the ocean floor. Carney was taken to hospital and put under anaesthesia.

However, he has not recovered in time to play the series of live dates they had planned in February and March. “We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances through March 10. Patrick needs time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their support and we’re looking forward to getting back on the road,” the band said in an official statement.
