THE CHARLATANS have began work on their ninth studio album.

The band entered Hook End Manor Studios in Oxfordshire with producer Jim Lowe last week (July 18), their official website reports.

“(There’s) 14 songs that we will record during this session,” bassist Martin Blunt wrote in the band’s online diary. “With everybody being around 24/7 we’ve found inspiration to embellishing these formative tracks.”

Blunt added: “Without giving too much away right now songs like ’For Your Entertainment’ and ’N.Y.C (There’s No Need To Stop)’ sound unique and refreshing.”
